Meridian, MS
This is a picture that Amy and I took from a couple of days ago. Do you think that we look alike at all?
I recently gave Meredith her first Georgia Tech Shirt. She looked so cute in it! I had her saying "GOOOOO JACKETS" to everyone that she passed by. Uncle Bradley was super proud! :o)
This one turned out a little bit blurry, but it was so cute that I had to post. Enjoy! :o)
Chuck E. Cheese
We recently celebrated Meredith's (my niece) fourth birthday at Chuck E. Cheese in Chattanooga. We had THE BEST TIME!! It was so much fun, and I was able to take some great pictures. I was amazed by how much energy all of the children had. I was exhausted after two hours of watching them run around......LOL!! We wanted to make sure that Meredith felt like a princess on her big day, so we got her a birthday boa and princess tiara. Isn't she the cutest??? :o)
I had a surprise box on my doorstep last night. When I opened the box, this is what was in there......YAY!!! It was a "Welcome To Procter & Gamble" gift from Corporate.....yahoo!!! I love free stuff, so I was very excited about my new treasures! I can't wait for our free product giveaway this Fall!
Last week, Bradley decided that he was going to cook me dinner. For those of you who don't know it, Bradley is a fantastic cook (and he actually enjoys it)! He told me that I wasn't allowed in the kitchen for two hours, and was very serious about this. After waiting anxiously, he finally told me that dinner was ready. When I went into the kitchen, this is what I found!!!!! I couldn't believe it! He even took the time to put everything out on nice dishes. I am so lucky to have such a sweet hubby!! :o)
the Bluff View Art District
While visiting Chattanooga, Bradley and I decided to visit the spot where he asked me to marry him! It is down in the Art District by the Tennessee River. We were so excited that we asked someone to take our picture for us. :o) I think that it is so pretty here and couldn't think of a more perfect location!!!
Chattanooga Aquarium
Bradley and I went to Chattanooga for the weekend, and it was SO MUCH FUN! One of the things that I miss about living there is all of the good local restaurants and happenings. We spent the day being tourists, traveling to galleries, coffee shops and even to the Chattanooga Aquarium. I was so excited to see the PENGUINS!!! :o) Bradley took this picture of me while a penguin was swimming by.......SO CUTE!!!
Leesburg, Georgia
Bradley and I entered our first 5K race a couple of weekends ago. We had SUCH a great time, even though Bradley can run MUCH faster than I can (notice his medal and my lack of one - HAHAHA!)!!! We went with a bunch of people from P&G and had a fantastic morning. We started at 7:30, so it wasn't too hot outside. However, by the time of the awards ceremony it was almost 100 degrees outside!!! Afterwards, everyone went to breakfast at our local IHOP to celebrate. This was actually my second race, and I improved my time by over a minute......YAHOO!!! I finished 44 out of 103, so I was pretty happy. We are going to do more races in the Fall to prepare for the big Jingle Bell Jog race in December. I will post more running pictures soon! Have a great day!!!
Here is a picture of my fabulous cousin, Tracie. I felt so honored to be in her bridal party, and we had such a great time celebrating her wedding weekend!! LOVE YOU TRACIE!!!
Ringgold, Georgia
So, my cousin's wedding was last weekend (in Ringgold), and I was a member of her wedding party. We had SO MUCH FUN during the entire weekend, and I got to spend some quality time with my extended family. Above is a picture of my Uncle Greg and I after the ceremony (at the hospitality suite - wahoo!!). He and I both used to drink soft drinks way too much, particularly Coca-Cola. We discovered at the ceremony that we both had given them up for a long time, and we were waiting for a special time to have another one. I gave them up for Lent over two years ago, and he gave them up when my cousin (his daughter) got engaged. He said that he wouldn't drink another soft drink until after her wedding. Once we discovered this, we figured out that this would make the perfect moment to have our first Coca-Cola again. It was SOOOOOO sweet and syrupy, and was definitely not what I remembered!! This is good because I used to drink about four of them a day!! Anyways, I won't be starting back on them any time soon. However, at least it made for a cute picture!!
This is a partial picture of our new kitchen. I want to wait to post the whole thing until we finish hanging stuff on the walls and get some new furniture. We are getting another cabinet for storage and some new prints for the walls. I want to wait to show everyone till it is 100 percent complete! :o)
We chose to put up a tumbled marble backsplash in our kitchen. We discovered that my sister and I have the exact same tile, except hers is square!! I guess we inherited the same decorating gene!!! HAHA!
As I stated earlier, renovating our kitchen was our major house project this year. Here is a picture of the granite that we chose.......
Bradley decided that his summer project was going to be to plant a rose garden. They are in full bloom right now and are BEAUTIFUL!!! He is a very good gardener and is very particular about his yard.....HAHA!
Meridian, MS
This is a picture that I took of Uncle Bradley and Ella (our middle niece) in the parking lot of the mall. He is such a good uncle!!
Meridian, MS
One of the things that we did this summer was visit my sister in Meridian, Mississippi. Not only did I get to see my fabulous sister and brother-in-law, but I also got to hang out with three of my nieces. Their ages are six, four and two. They are a huge bundle of energy and are so much fun to play with!! Bradley took this picture of me on a very early Saturday morning. I love being an Auntie!!!!! They call me "Aunt Tippany," and it is soooooo cute!
August 3, 2011
I would just like to apologize for being such a bad blogger!! A lot had happened in the past few months that had taken all of my time away from the computer. As some of you know, I am no longer working with Cooper. I met some wonderful people during my brief time there, but after the almost hour drive to get there, extra-long working hours, almost hour drive home and working some weekends equaled no free time. I was exhausted all of the time, and to be honest, the job just wasn't what I was passionate about. Soooooo, after a long discussion with my husband, I put in my two weeks notice. However, don't feel too sorry for me because I received an offer to be an engineer for Procter & Gamble here in Albany.......YAAAAY!!! Actually, I just started this last Monday and love it!! Everyone is so friendly, and it is a FABULOUS (and huge) company to work for. I did, however, take some time off to be an actual housewife. Now, I am not saying that I would want to do it all of the time, but three weeks was GREAT!!! HAHAHA! I had some time to catch up on my sleep and decorate our house. We have actually done a ton to the house during the summer, and I finally have time to post some pictures. I am going to be doing many more blog posts, especially since I have had so many requests for them! :o) We finished our kitchen, bought more furniture, had a bunch of stuff framed, and had a fun time decorating together. It really is true that it takes time to get your house the way that you like it. Here is a picture of one of our new purchases......a new television and entertainment center!!! Our television was super old and was sitting on a desk this time last year.....YUCK! Now, it looks much better. What do you guys think??
Here is a self-portrait that Bradley and I did on my birthday.......YAY!!!!
Bradley & Tiffany's Kitchen.......
Here is a picture of our kitchen before we started any sort of home improvement project. We are in the process of painting it, getting granite (which is already done) and having a tile backsplash put up. I am SUPER excited!!!!
Bradley and I have been saving for a while, and we FINALLY got granite in our kitchen............YAAAAAAY!!! I will post pictures soon, but I want to wait until the tile backsplash gets put up. Bradley and I will be painting too, and we ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT IT!!!! I promise, promise, promise that I will post pictures soon. I am also going to make a conscious effort to post more stuff. Work has been crazy busy, so my internet time has been limited. I am going to change that very soon! :o)
As of about 8pm tonight, I am the proud new owner of an IPHONE 4!!!! YAAAAY!!! I love, love, love technology and can't wait to learn how to use it. Be on the lookout for more posts, because I now have internet access 24-7!!! Yahoo!!
Our kitchen...
Here is the self-portrait that we took from our Anniversary Celebration. We took the picture in front of our FABULOUS wedding sign!!!
Bradley and I decided to have another anniversary celebration when we got back to Albany. I baked a little Anniversary cake, and we had our present exchange......FUN TIMES!!!! He is a picture of the table.....
So, I have loved Christian Bale since 1994 when he was "Laurie" in Little Women. Anyways, the Academy Awards happened to take place over our anniversary weekend, and he was up for his first Oscar. Well, HE WON!!!!!! I thought that it was very appropriate that my childhood crush (even though he isn't that cute anymore - HA!!!) received his first Oscar on my first wedding anniversary!!! Bradley thought that it was hilarious, so he took a picture of me during the Oscar speech. Sorry the picture is so dark!!!! LOL!!!!! I am actually in the left part of the picture giving a thumbs up sign, but it is a little hard to see.
Blue Ridge, Georgia
I cannot believe that we have been married for a year now! TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN!!!! Bradley and I took off from work and headed to the Blue Ridge Mountains to celebrate at his family's cabin. We had SO MUCH FUN!!!! Blue Ridge is a GREAT town with tons of cute shops. My parents came to take us out for an anniversary lunch (since Blue Ridge is only about an hour from Chattanooga), and we had a lot of the wedding party come to stay with us for a night. We had a great time shopping, grilling out and spending some fun times together. This is a picture of us at this super cute little coffee shop in downtown Blue Ridge. Overall, it was a great way to spend our first anniversary!
I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day from the Winn Family!!!! Bradley and I are very excited to be celebrating our first Valentine's Day together as man and wife. We have a big dinner planned (we love to cook), followed by present opening time!!! YAY!!!! I have attached a picture of Bradley's present, which has been wrapped for the past two weeks. I really enjoy wrapping things, so I tend to wrap my presents when I first buy them. Bradley says that he has already purchased my present, and it is hidden somewhere in our house. However, I have had to super, duper promise to not hunt for it. I am very anxious to see what it is. I will post more pictures later! Have a great day!!!
So, do you all remember my fabulous friend, Joni Lay, of Chocolate Butterbean (see MANY previous posts about her company - she did all of the signage for our wedding, including our sign)?? Well, she now has started another fantastic venture called "Laybabylay." It is this SUPER CUTE blog that features all things baby and nursery (she just gave birth to her first daughter recently - soooooo precious!). I enjoy looking at her blog because she comes up with such great stuff. You all REALLY need to check it out!!!
Anyways, I actually found on her blog the other day a print by the artist, Matte Stephens. This happened to be the day that I accepted my new job. I was soooo in love with all of his work, but I was especially drawn to this little print of a couple dancing in the rain. Since it has been such a long haul looking for a job, this picture reminded me so much of how excited Bradley and I are about my new employment opportunity. It seemed too perfect, so I purchased it immediately. I am going to have it framed and hung in my office (which is MY girlie space of the house - I only get one room to do this in - HAHA!) to remind me of how happy I was on that day. This is just a picture that I took of the print. I will be sure to post a picture of it once it is framed.
Here are some links to these great websites:

ENJOY!!!!!
I am very happy to report that I just accepted a job as a Design Engineer with Cooper Lighting last week!!! Cooper is actually located in Americus, Georgia, which is where Bradley went to high school. Although it is about a 30 minute drive, there are a lot of super cute stores (including the great "Mary Baldwin," which is where we were registered at - see earlier post) and great restaurants to go and visit. I am so happy to FINALLY have an engineering job again and get back into the working world!!! Everyone there has been so nice and I look forward to starting my new role on the 21st. Yay!
Today was Jenny's baby shower to celebrate the upcoming arrival of Baby Ethan. Jenny and I were on the Georgia Tech Dance Team together (waaaaay back in the day), and I am so thrilled that she also lives in Albany!!! I was so happy that she loved her little blue/madras plaid blanket with "Ethan" written on it!!! We all know that I am a sucker for anything with a monogram!!! Here is a picture that I took from her shower. She, of course, looked too cute for words!!! It was at her chuch (Albany First United Methodist-actually across the street from ours), which had the most BEAUTIFUL parlor!!! It was a great place to have a party and made some gorgeous pictures. Congrats Jenny!!!!

Opelika, Alabama
Last night, Bradley and I drove to Alabama to meet my new little cousin (daughter of my first cousin, Meredith). She is sooooo cute!! We were able to visit with my family for a few hours before we made the drive back home. I was super excited that I got to hold little Victoria!! She is precious!!! Bradley took this picture of us, which I am now in love with!!! :o)
My cousin, Meredith, had a baby girl this morning....YAY!!! I am soooo excited to go and see her in a couple of hours! Meredith is actually getting her Ph.D. at Auburn, so she only lives about an hour and fifteen minutes away. Bradley and I are going to go see Baby Victoria as soon as he gets off of work. I am super excited because I am also getting a chance to see many members of my family (including my Bridesmaid/cousin, Kay....yay!) that I normally don't get to see very often in Chattanooga. It is great that Meredith lives so close because we can go and see her, along with the rest of my family when they are down visiting her. It is MUCH closer than going to Chattanooga!!! I LOOOOVE buying baby presents, so I picked Baby Victoria up a new pink bear and little "Baby Sleeping" pillow.
My former Ga Tech Dance Teamer, Jenny, is also having a baby shower tomorrow. We are so happy that we live in the same town, so I am very excited to see her too. She is having a little boy named "Ethan," so I picked her up a little blankie and had his name put on it. PRESH!!! I got it from a GREAT little boutique in town called "Love Letters." I highly suggest that you all check it out. Not only do they have super cute stuff, but their wrapping is too cute!!!
Since I was speaking about how I love to change things (I think that I have a short attention span! HAHA!!), I felt the need to change the background of our blog. People often ask me why our website address says "nearlyweds" and not "newlyweds." The reason for this is because I bought the website while we were engaged and didn't think about this at the time. We have the website already paid for for three years, so we won't be changing it until our time runs out. Once the three years do run out (some time this year), we will be able to change our web address. There were many templates to chose from, but for now, this one was my favorite. Enjoy!!
Is it just me, or do I look the same as I did when I was four years old??? LOL!!!!!
This was another one of my favorite pictures that my mom brought this past weekend. This is a picture of me (approximately age 3-4) with my mother's parents. I LOVED Barbie dolls when I was little and apparently we were playing with them at the dinner table! Fun times!!! I think that this picture is also very sweet. I was excited that she did have several pictures of myself with my grandparents because they lived in Kansas, so I didn't get to see them very often. My grandmother passed away when I was 15, and my grandfather passed away about four years ago. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking through all of these old memories. I hope that we find more pictures in the future!!!
This past weekend, my mother and father made the long drive to South Georgia for a visit. We had such a wonderful time swapping recipes, cooking together and driving around town. My mother brought a bunch of old pictures and let me scan and save them to my computer. This was one of my favorites that we found. Apparently, this picture was taken on my father's 37th birthday. I was four and my brother was eleven. I thought that it was such a sweet picture and it was interesting to find it now because my brother turned 37 this year. I can't wait to have it printed out and framed.
Anyone who has been to our house, knows how much I HATED the guest bathroom. We were constantly on the hunt for the perfect fabric to make the shower curtain out of. Since we didn't have the fabric, we couldn't paint the walls. The plain walls were fine when we first moved in, however, once we painted the hallway (the green color) it was VERY obvious that the bathroom needed to be painted asap. Between the plain, temporary shower curtain, the bare walls and no decoration, I was quite embarassed for people to even look in there. Well, with the help of my mother-in-law, we were able to get some wonderful fabric for our shower curtain. We then went and found some great paint for the walls. Although it was quite a pain to paint the bathroom, we finally completed our project and think that it looks FAB!! We are still wanting to change out the sink and countertop, so for now, here is a pic of the top part of the curtain with the new paint. I will post more pictures when the whole bathroom is complete.
We are all hoping that Spring is right around the corner, especially after this crazy Winter!! In honor of the upcoming change of season, I put out a more "Spring-like" setting for our dining room table. I change things around in our house very often because I get tired of constantly looking at the same thing. This is one of the reasons that I chose Juliska dishes for our wedding, because everything is offered in different shapes and colors. Bradley teases me and tells me that he never knows what the house (particularly the table) is going to look like when he comes home from work!!! I really enjoy experimenting with different looks on the table and try to have them reflect the colors of the season. Even though it isn't quite springtime yet, this is out to help me look forward to the warmer times to come!
Since Bradley and I were going to be in Chattanooga for actual Christmas Day, we decided to have our Christmas exchange on the 22nd. We really wanted to be able to celebrate our first Christmas together in our own house with our own tree. This was fine with me because I got to open my presents early (YAY!) and got to wear my new bracelets on Christmas Day!!! This was a self-portrait that was taken while we were opening our presents. We cooked a nice dinner together (YUMMY Shrimp & Grits), listened to festive Christmas music and exchanged presents in our pj's!! SO FUN!! Anyways, I really liked this picture and felt like posting it!!! Enjoy!!
Here is a picture of the back of our SUPER cute Christmas card.......YAHOO for Nico & Lala!!!
This is the link where you can choose to go to either their main site or their blog. I suggest looking at both because they make all sorts of GREAT things!!!!
This is a picture of our FABULOUS Christmas card that was made courtesy of Nico & Lala!!!
http://www.nicoandlala.blogspot.com/
I STRONGLY suggest checking out their website and blog, because they make some WONDERFUL stuff!!! Yay!
We got so many compliments on our cards this year!!! This is a picture of the front of the card, along with the PRECIOUS envelopes!! I will also post a picture of the back, which was equally as cute!!
This is a picture of our first married Christmas tree. Sorry these entries are so scattered, but this site will only let me post one picture per entry. Since it posts the newest entries at the top, it could get a little confusing! There will be several entries about Christmas, so just make sure to read them all!! :o)
Anyways, I lived by myself for several years before Bradley and I got married, so I actually have multiple Christmas tree decorations. This means that I put up different trees with a complete different set of decorations depending on the year. I get bored easily, so I hate putting the same thing up every year!! I decided to put up the red and gold tree this year because it matched our living room. I added some dark green accents to make everything really match. I also have another tree that I call my "whimsical tree" that has lots of polka dots, stripes and fluffy ornaments. This is obviously NOT Bradley's favorite tree, because it is so girlie, but it will be fun to have once we have kiddos. Anyways, here is a picture of the winning tree!
So, Bradley and I recently celebrated our first married Christmas together. It was so wonderful and we managed to see/visit pretty much everyone in all of our families!! We made trips to Meridian, Ms to visit my sister, Chattanooga to visit my whole family and then Athens, Ga to visit all of Bradley's family. We had such a great time but were very happy to be back home!!! Traveling makes you very tired...HAHA!!! I was so happy to have my first house with Christmas lights on it. I was SO EXCITED!!! Since I had never done it before, however, I forgot to get Christmas lights for over the garage. OOPS!!! So, we had lights that stretched across the main part of the house, but not the garage. We laughed about it when we realized our mistake and decided to just get more lights next year. We thought that it still looked nice. :o) Bradley's mom and I made the wreaths to go across the front of the house. We had small ones for all of the windows and then a coordinating large one for the door. This is a picture that I took of Bradley on the night that we hung everything. Isn't he precious???!!! :o)
One thing that I love about living in South Georgia is that there are tons of great antique shops!! We found this great set of prints (already framed....yahoo!!) at an antique store over Christmas. They are now hanging in our living room above the television. I didn't take a picture of them on the wall because Bradley is getting ready to build me a shelf/mantel to put up over the television. I want to wait until the whole wall is complete before I put pictures up.
Here is a picture of our new and improved living room. It looks pretty dark in the picture, but it isn't nearly as bad in person!!!
I just realized that I never put up pictures from where we painted the living room and hallways!!! I talked about it for so long and then never put any up because I have been such a bad blogger!!! Bradley and I decided to paint the walls "San Antonio Sage" by Sherwin Williams. I was so scared that it was going to be too dark, so we had them lighten it. I am very glad that we did because it definitely would have been WAY too dark!!!! This is a picture of Bradley putting the first little bit of paint on the walls. I was SO SCARED!!! Luckily, it turned out really well!!!
Bradley & I have slowly but surely been adding stuff (in terms of decorating) to our house. When we first moved in, we had to put up things on the walls that we already had because we couldn't buy everything at once. Although most of our pictures, etc. were too small, they served their purpose in filling up wall space. We have been trying to replace our small pictures with new, bigger pictures for the past year. We purchased this painting over Christmas for our living room, which we were really excited about. We decided to use greens, golds and brick reds in the living room and hallway, so we thought that this would work well in there. Let me know what you guys think!!!
I just realized that I have not updated our blog for almost 2 months.....AHHHHH!!!! I can't write much right now b/c I am about to attend a basketball game for the high school that I taught at when I first moved to town (GO WESTFIELD!!!). Anyways, Christmas was great (This picture was from Christmas Eve) and I PROMISE to write more very soon!!!! Stay tuned!!!!
Bradley and I recently celebrated our seven year dating anniversary. He came home and surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of pink roses. We are so happy together and cooked a fabulous meal to celebrate the day!!!
So, I have written before about living on a pecan orchard. Well, the pecans have officially fallen and have taken over our property. We probably have 1000 pecans in our yard right now....I AM NOT KIDDING!!! Bradley and I have started picking them, but it takes FOREVER!!! I am really anxious about making our first pecan pie (courtesy of the wonderful MaryAnn) for Thanksgiving this year, and will have plenty of pecans to give away. If you need any, just let me know!!! Here is a picture of our backyard right now of all of the trees. We also have a huge pecan tree in our front yard which likes to drop pecans on our cars if we don't park in the garage!! LOL!!!
Here is a picture of our happy carved pumpkin sitting in front of our house.....YAY!!!
Halloween 2010
Bradley and I recently visited Mark's Melon Patch to find the perfect Halloween pumpkin. It is such a great place to go to, especially if you have small children. They decorate their property so well and have fun things to do including playgrounds and a haunted maze. After about 20 minutes and tons of pumpkins later, we were able to find the perfect one!! We then took it home and carved it. It was very exciting because it was our first married pumpkin. I loved driving home everyday (for like a week -HA!) and seeing it sitting on our front porch. We made it have a happy sort of face (instead of carving a scary pumpkin) so it would be more child friendly for our neighbors!!!! Our neighborhood put on a big Halloween block party, and it was great to get to know people who live on our street. I didn't take any pictures from the event, but we had a terrific time!
October 15-17, 2010
Chattanooga,Tn
I am SO SORRY that I have not written anything in a month and a half!! I have been pretty good at posting pictures on facebook, but I have been TERRIBLE with keeping up with my blog. Anyways, Bradley and I had the busiest weekend ever on October 16th. We left Friday night (Oct. 15th) and made the very long drive to Chattanooga, Tennessee. We didn't even get in until about 10pm and were exhausted by the time that we got there. Bradley's birthday had recently happened, so my mom surprised him with a birthday cake and some presents. Yay!! We then promptly went to bed and prepared for the next day (which was SUPER busy). We started the morning by taking my niece, Meredith, out for a birthday breakfast. We were unable to come up for her 3rd birthday, so we decided to give her a little birthday party. We played on the playground, ate some yummy food and let her open her presents. After that, we headed on downtown for UTC's (where I went to graduate school) Homecoming festivities. We went to the UTC Kappa Sigma house for an alumni/tailgating event because both my extended family and Bradley were all brothers of that fraternity. Bradley especially had a great time because he had never been to that Kappa Sig house, and we enjoyed getting to meet the brothers. We then went and tailgated for the football game with my aunts and uncles downtown. I then had to change clothes in my uncle's car for the first wedding of the day. We traveled a few miles to the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club (where we had our reception) to go to Kristin and Michael's wedding reception. It was so beautiful and we had a wonderful time. We then went to Terra Nostra to meet up with my good friend, Lisa, for a glass of wine. I had not seen her since I moved to Albany and had a wonderful time catching up. We then headed to the Double Tree Hotel for Robin's wedding reception. Bradley and I had a great time and loved hanging out with Tracey Hankins, a fellow Junior Leaguer that I had not seen in months either. After that wedding, we then went and met back up with Lisa. That was honestly one of the busiest days of my life, but it was wonderful seeing so many people in one day. It was definitely the most productive weekend, in terms of getting to visit with people, but it was definitely exhausting. Bradley and I got up the next morning and had to drive back to Albany in order for Bradley to return to work for Sunday evening. We had a wonderful time and were able to post a lot of pictures on facebook. Stay tuned for more postings!!!
We are so excited that Fall is finally here!!!! It is so hot in South Georgia during the Summer, so it is wonderful that the weather is FINALLY starting to cool down. In honor of the Fall Season beginning, I went to Bath & Body works and bought some yummy new Fall scents. They sell wonderful candles by Slatkin & Company that are on sale right now......YAHOO! Between the sale and having a coupon, I got quite the deal!!! :o) Another reason that I love the Fall is that we should be getting some pecans soon from our trees (all 13 of them!). So, let me know if you need any pecans because we will have a whole yard of them!! :o)
Last week, we celebrated Bradley's 26th birthday. I started off the morning (VERY early morning) with making him coffee and cinnamon rolls to take to work. I think that Bradley was very popular that day since he had an entire plate of hot, delicious cinnamon rolls to give away to his work associates. :o) I decorated, baked and cooked during the day, so everything would be ready by the time that he got home. I made him a small birthday cake with homemade buttercream frosting and a steak dinner. Everything was so yummy and he even got some birthday presents too! This is our self-portrait that we made after he had opened his presents. Cute!!
Blue Ridge, Georgia
A couple of weeks ago, we went up to the Winn's cabin in Blue Ridge to hang out with Bradley's family. We had such a wonderful time!! I haven't been up there since we got engaged, so I was anxious to see all of the renovations that had been done on the house in the past year and a half. The kitchen has been redone, with a new bathroom upstairs, along with a new deck. I was having so much fun, however, that I forgot to take pictures......ARGGGGG!!! I did manage to take this picture of Bradley when we went for a walk near Lake Blue Ridge. Isn't he the cutest??? :o)
Last weekend, Bradley and I drove about 30 minutes to the Plains Peanut Festival. We got a chance to make it to the parade and we also got to get a book signed by former President Jimmy Carter!!! I have never met a president before, so it was really cool to have the opportunity to!!! It is really hard to believe that someone from that small of a town could one day be in charge of our country!! The town is super, super small (population 800), so the festival is a huge deal. Here is a picture that we took of the town (this is pretty much the entire town....NOT KIDDING!!).
Sorry that it has been FOREVER since my last posting. We have been super busy and time has just been getting away from us. A couple of weeks ago, Bradley had to go to Atlanta for work to recruit Ga Tech students to come and apply at Proctor and Gamble (Go Jackets!!). It was the first time that we have been away from each other for an extended period of time since we have been married. When Bradley got home, he gave me two great presents. He bought us some Georgia Tech pasta to cook on gameday. He also gave me "True Prep," which is a book that I have been dying to read (it just came out and they didn't have it at the Albany bookstore yet ).....YAY!!!! I am about half way through and it is FAB!!! Well, I have to go for now, but keep checking back for new blog postings!
So I recently discovered a local picture frame company called "Stewart & James." They have these FABULOUS frames that are made from all sorts of salvaged wood. I met up with the lovely Kristen (one of the owners) recently, and she let me come over and look at what all they had in stock. There were so many to choose from, but I finally decided to get a blue one to put in our kitchen. I highly suggest that you check them out, both online and on facebook, because they make some great products!!
We also picked up our new pillows that we had made for the living room. I was very happy with them! I have found a pair of bronze sconces from pottery barn that I think I am going to get to put on both sides of our painting. I am also going to have another pillow made for the gold chair. It looks a little bare still, but we are hunting for things to hang on the walls. We think that we are going to paint the walls either a gold or green color. The brick colored drapes look a little harsh against our ivory walls, so you will just have to try and picture them with a little bit of color!!! Painting the rooms is the next thing on our home to-do list!! I will let you know how it goes!!
I loved our plaid fabric so much that I decided to cover our chair in it..... what do you guys think?

We are so excited that we finally have all of our bedding for the master bedroom. Bradley also hung our painted silks that we recently had framed, which I am very happy with!! I took a couple of pictures because I was so excited about it. With the exception of having more things on the walls, we are pretty much done with this room. Yay!!!
I forgot to tell you that our wedding sign that is going in our kitchen was also in a national magazine.....Yay! My friend Joni of Chocolate Butterbean has become quite successful in the wedding world and one of her signs was featured in the "Stuff We Love - Attention To Detail" section of Unveiled Magazine. I looked online to see what they chose, and it was OUR WEDDING SIGN....YAY! I was so excited that I immediately ordered a copy to keep. I know that I am a dork, but I was very excited!!!!
Bradley and I are making the long trip up to Tennessee this weekend. It will be full of both fun and work because we have to get the rest of my stuff that didn't make it during my first move. The main item that I am looking forward to seeing again is our wedding sign. We are going to hang it up in the kitchen after we get someone to put some sort of wire on it. The sign is 3' X 4', so it will take up a huge portion of the wall. Above is a picture of our living room looking into the kitchen. The blank wall in the kitchen is where the sign is going to go. Wish us luck getting it down here without hurting it!
Here is a more recent picture of our living room with our new drapes and painting on the wall. We are picking up the pillows this week, so ignore the brown pillows on the couch for now. I have decided to paint this room either gold or some sort of green color. Please feel free to keep your suggestions coming because I really do appreciate all of the input! :o)
Bradley's mother had a little side table and coordinating cloth made for our guest bedroom. It is the same fabric as the pillows on the bed. There was some fabric left over, so we recovered a chair that we already had with a staple gun. I still will not be 100 percent happy until we actually paint the room, but here is what we have so far.....
Bradley and I received this BEAUTIFUL pair of hand painted silks from China as a wedding present (only one is shown here). We had them framed recently and can't wait to put them up in our room. I took a picture in front of the new drapes to show how well they are going to go together (I hope). I will post a picture of the entire room once we get our bedding pillows in. Here is one of the newly framed prints......
K, so I wrote about how we had to paint our bedroom and put up our new blue drapes recently. Well, we finished and everything looks great! However, we haven't picked up our bed pillows yet, so I don't want to reveal the entire room until everything is complete. I will, however, show you a couple of pictures of the drapes with the new wall color. Enjoy!!
Today, we were surprised to find a box at our door from UPS. We opened up the box and found all of this GREAT food from Omaha Steaks that all of our friends that stayed with us for Christmas In July bought for us. It was so nice of them, especially since we love to cook! The package contained burgers, sirloin steaks, fillets and yummy cheese potatoes. We are SO EXCITED and can't wait to try it all out. On top of that, we also received a bottle of red wine to go along with all of the meat. YAHOO!!
Weekend of July 24, 2010
The Winn House
After many days of planning, our Tacky Tshirt Christmas In July weekend has come and left and was a huge success! We had about 12 people spend the entire weekend with us in Albany, and we even found a place for everyone to sleep! We had such a great time and it was so nice to catch back up with old friends. Here is a picture from our weekend together. I have posted all of the pictures on Facebook, so be sure to check them out.
Here is a picture of the finished product of my tacky t-shirt for this weekend's party. I don't mean to brag, but I think that it looks pretty good to be 100% handmade by moi!! :o) Anyways, we have been getting out some old holiday decorations and cleaning the house for all of our guests this weekend. The bedroom wall painting is complete (and looks fabulous), however, the seamstress has finished all of the bedding pillows. We have all of the draperies up, but I want to wait and not post a picture until the entire room is complete. Stay tuned for that and updates on our Christmas In July party.....yay!
Here is a quick picture of what the wall color looks like once it has dried. The walls were an ivory color, but we are changing them to cappuccino. Not a big change, but enough of one to make it worth the effort, I hope!!!!! The blue is the tape, so you kind of have to use your imagination a little bit! :o)
I am SUPER excited that our draperies for the living room and the master bedroom are finally done!! YAHOO!!! We went to Lowe's and picked up the rods, finials, etc that we need to hang them up. Bradley's parents are coming down tomorrow to help us hang everything and put all of the furniture back. We have had to move a lot of things out of our room in order to paint, so our house is a MESS right now!!! I will post pictures when it is all done!!
July 15, 2010
Last night, we began painting our bedroom. We are really wanting to get everything completed in time for when our friends get here next weekend for our party. We love our tray ceiling and crown molding, however, it makes life VERY difficult when you have to paint around it!!! GRRRR!!! Anyways, we used blue painter's tape to prevent any spills, but went through an entire roll without finishing taping the room. Since it was too late to go back to Lowe's, we decided to start painting the portion that we did have taped. We are going to go back to the store to get some more tape, and possibly paint, and will hopefully have everything finished by tonight.....Fingers crossed!!!!
Bradley's fraternity used to have an annual "Christmas In July" party every year, complete with costumes, trees and watching "The Grinch" on the front lawn. Even though those days are long gone, Bradley's fraternity brothers have decided to start back up the old tradition. Since Bradley and I have a house with no children, everyone decided that our house would be the meeting place this year. We are expecting many overnight houseguests next weekend for our "Tacky T-Shirt Christmas In July" party. I went to Michael's yesterday and bought some supplies for my shirt. Here is what I have done so far. I am going to add decorations to the tree, including little pom-pom balls and bells. I am thinking about making some matching bell earrings too. We will see what all I come up with.....
July 14, 2010
Bradley and I have discovered that there are a lot of flea markets around the Albany area that have really cool antiques at wonderful prices!!! We recently went and found this awesome antique rocking chair with caning on the back and the seat. We have to fix the hole that is on the back, but other than that, it looks great in our living room! We are going to have a pillow made to put in it also. We put the chair in the corner of the room, next to our draperies (well, imaginary drapes for now because they still aren't done). We hope that it will look good when everything gets in......
I have been wanting to paint our room for a while now, but it took us a little time to find a color that we both liked. We went to Home Depot the other day and found this wonderful color by Martha Stewart. We painted a small portion of the wall and hung up our bed linen fabrics to make sure that it would all coordinate. The fabric on the right is called "Robin's Toile" and is what our draperies are going to be made up. The plaid fabric on the left is what the two largest pillows are made of, with the long pillow in front of it in the chocolate brown fabric. We then had a small pillow to put out front made in the Robin's Toile. I found this great matelasse ivory coverlet set at Tuesday Morning (awesome place where you can find some great deals!!!!) that we will be using as well. I can't wait until all of our fabric stuff is completed. We are planning on painting our room this weekend. I will post some pics from our first painting experience at our new house. Yay!!
Bradley and I have been hanging things in the living room. If you remember from the pictures before, there was nothing on the wall and it looked quite bare. We have been able to pick up some things to hang on the walls and it is starting to look pretty good! We want to only get things that we will use for many years to come, instead of going too quickly and buying stuff that we wouldn't use long term. We still don't have our drapes up yet, so I don't want to post another picture until it is all completed. For now, I am just posting one of the pieces that we purchased recently. Bradley and I love paintings, so we were very excited to find this!!
Bradley and I went to one of the many antique stores in Albany on Saturday and found this WONDERFUL silver-plated pitcher. It looks a little rough right now, but with some silver polish and a little love it is going to look great in our new china cabinet!! I will post another picture when I have it all cleaned up!
This is a picture of our new birdhouse for our backyard. Since we have 13 trees out back, we have lots of space to hang them. We both love Ga Tech, so we know that it will be a wonderful addition to our home!!! GO JACKETS!!! :o)

The Winn Kitchen
One of our favorite things to do it cook. We were so excited to see that a ton of our wedding gifts were from Williams Sonoma because our kitchen is now fully stocked....yay!! Bradley and I think that it is very important to actually sit down at the dinner table every night and share a meal together....no television allowed!! This gives us a chance to catch up and see how each of our days went. We also both love change, so we are constantly changing the plates and table linens that we use. Right now we are using a pewter color...... I know that it is a little Fall looking, but it was new and I thought fun to use. I was so excited with how dinner looked that I decided to take a picture. This dinner featured grilled Mojo chicken with asparagus, a sour cream potato bake with sliced green onion and cheddar cheese, and a spinach salad with homemade dijon-shallot vinaigrette. Yummy!!! :o)
This is a fun picture that I liked of Bradley's Aunt Elaine, his cousin Brett and myself in the pool!!
This is a picture that I took today of our living room. I posted earlier the fabrics that we selected for our drapes and couch pillows. They still aren't finished yet, so it looks pretty plain in here. I can't wait until we get everything in so we can have some color in the room!! I would really like to paint this room too, but we have to make sure that everything flows since there is such a big opening into the kitchen. Any suggestions??
This is a picture that I took looking in towards our kitchen. We want to paint, but we don't know what color. Everything is neutral right now so we can better decide after we get all of our draperies up. What do you guys think?
June 25-27, 2010
Athens, Ga
Last weekend, Bradley's whole family made the trip us to Athens to visit Uncle Johnny's. He lives in the BEAUTIFUL 1820's fully restored farm house that I talked about last year. We had so much fun telling stories, drinking coffee and eating wonderful food! Good times were had by all and we look forward to seeing everyone again on Labor Day!! This is a picture of Bradley and I in the garden......
Our guest bedroom.....
For whatever reason, I decided that the guest bedroom should be the first room that I would begin to decorate. Bear in mind that this decision was made several months ago, and my brain was still fried from all of the wedding planning. Anyways, we inherited a black iron bed from Bradley's family and I just happened to find this really pretty black floral fabric that I really liked. Since I found this fabric first, I somehow decided that this is where I should begin my decorating journey. We now have all of the bed linens back from the seamstress, and the drapes have also been completed. The only thing that isn't done is the side table. Bradley's mother and I found this really fun checked fabric (see the two reddish pillows) and I want to also have a tablecloth made out of the same fabric to go on the other side of the bed (in the corner of the room). It took me a little while to find a decorator table to cover with the fabric that would fit in the space, but I just recently located one and am now ready to have the cloth made. I think that the reddish color will lighten the room up a bit. We also haven't painted and don't have anything on the walls, so keep an open mind when you look at this. Here is what is in there so far.....

Our kitchen...
So, I finally got our china cabinet cleaned out and filled with our Juliska dishes. The one problem with buying an antique is that they can be quite dirty and it takes a lot of work to get them to look nice. After many dust rags and cans of Pledge, we were able to get the cabinet looking pretty darn good! I didn't have any plate racks, so I had to make due with the serving pieces that we currently own. Also, I didn't know how much weight that I could put on the shelves, so I didn't put much stuff on the first two rows. Here is a picture of the final product......
June 16, 2010
Our kitchen...
Bradley's youngest brother, Logan, came down to Albany to help us pick up our antique china cabinet that we purchased the other day. Bradley and Logan were luckily able to fit it in the back of Logan's SUV and get it to our house safely. It is currently empty because we haven't cleaned it yet. I was so excited that I decided to go ahead and take a picture of it anyway. I can't wait to get all of our Juliska dishes and cookbooks in it!!! I will post another picture when it is entirely finished.
June 14, 2010
Our office.....
Anybody who knows me well knows that I have a love for great paper. Stationary, Christmas cards, cute little enclosure cards.....I love it all! Well, I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and found this cute little framed bulletin board for half off. I thought that it would be a great way to hang some of my keepsakes, while keeping everything looking neat. Right now it has a lot of the signage from our own wedding up, but I can't wait to fill it with Christmas cards during the Holidays!!!!
June 11, 2010
Our house.....
I also wanted to show how well our new painting looks with the fabric that is going to be converted into our drapes and couch pillows. The brick geometrical print on the left is presently being made into drapes (I can't wait until I get them!!!). Our couch is ivory (it is behind the painting), so were are going to have pillows with the same geometrical print in the back, with smaller pillows in the front out of the floral fabric that is shown on the right. I went and purchased some green fringe to add to the floral pillow, but it had to be ordered because the shop didn't have enough. We are supposed to be getting it at the beginning of next week. Once it arrives, Bradley's mother, Lillie Ann, and I are going to go to the decorating shop to have the pillows made. Bradley's mother is a decorator and has shown me how much fun custom decoration can be!!! I have had the best time picking out fabrics for all of the rooms. The only problem is that it takes longer to get everything finished, but, you get to have it exactly how you want.....yay! I will definitely be posting a picture of the finished product once it gets completed......
June 9, 2010
So, Bradley and I have been looking for a china cabinet forever. We decided to get up on Saturday morning and take a look at the Sasser Flea Market and Antique Mall. For those of you who have never been to Sasser, Georgia, it is only about one mile wide and is in the middle of nowhere. However, there are tons of little antique shops all on this one street (basically the only street in the town) that have a TON of great stuff. There is also the Sasser Flea Market and Antique Mall that I HIGHLY recommend going to. The drawback is that there is no air conditioning, but if you are willing to go and sustain the heat, there are some WONDERFUL deals to be found. We picked up a beautiful antique china cabinet and extra chest of drawers for super cheap. We were able to fit the drawers in the car, but, Bradley and his brother are going to pick up the cabinet today. I am so excited to finally have more storage for all of my beloved Juliska dishes in the kitchen! As we were about to leave, we also saw this great painting that matches the colors of our living room (or our future colors....our living room isn't done yet)! I was so excited that we picked it up too. Above is a picture of the painting (the color in the picture is a bit off, but you get the idea). It hasn't been hung yet, so you might have to use your imagination a little bit. I will take a picture of the china cabinet tonight, once it gets here....Yay!!!

Bayou Restaurant @ Lake Chehaw
This is a picture of us with Tiffany's parents when they came and visited last week. We had such a nice time with them and were able to take them to our favorite local restaurant, Bayou. It is located directly on Lake Chehaw and has great food and wonderful live music. We like to sit out on the patio and enjoy good food and conversation while overlooking the water. We had our favorite server, Shelly, take this picture for us to remember the occasion.
Jekyll Island
This was another picture from last weekend that I really liked. It is from our visit to Jekyll Island where we went and saw the Jekyll Island Club. Bradley and I absolutely love old buildings, so we took this picture right before it started raining. We are also a big fan of old oak trees, so we can't wait to plan a vacation here sometime in the future!!!
June 4-6, 2010
St. Simons Island, Georgia
Last weekend, we went to St. Simons Island, Georgia for our good friends Dino and Katie's wedding weekend. We had such a great time and Tiffany has already posted all of the pictures on her Facebook page. We were able to travel around the island, look at antique stores and even grab some yummy lunch at the King & Prince Hotel. We also had a chance to visit Jekyll Island and go through the famous Jekyll Island Club. We had such a great time and thought that Dino and Katie could throw one heck of a party!! Tiffany's parents came to visit us the day we got back and we will post the pictures very soon. Have a great day everyone!!!
Ft. Walton Beach, Florida
I figured that I would also post a picture of Bradley and I from the beach.....so much fun!! :o)
Last Friday, Bradley and I headed to Americus, Georgia to watch Logan (Bradley's youngest brother) graduate from high school. It was a very nice ceremony and we were so proud that he was an honor graduate!! Afterwards, we headed on down to meet up with the gang in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We go every Memorial Day weekend with all of our college friends to catch up. Many of the people are now either engaged, married, or married with children, so we don't get to see them as often as we would like. Fun times were had by all and we look forward to hanging out with everyone during the upcoming football season. Here is a picture of Logan and I from the graduation ceremony...
We have had the best weekend! We are finally getting things unpacked enough to where it looks like we have a house and are getting ready to go to the beach. We were able to purchase some black urns for our front porch (thank you Heather!) and bought some yellow and white flowers to put in them. Since we both went to Ga Tech, we thought that the colors would be fun.....GO JACKETS! :o) Anyways, this is Tiffany's last weekend teaching at Westfield and we are going to go to Southland Acadamy on Friday for Logan's graduation (Bradley's youngest brother). Right after the graduation dinner, we will be leaving for the beach to catch up with all of our college friends. We haven't seen most of them since the wedding, so we are looking forward to catching up with everybody. Bradley was the chef this evening and made some yummy watermelon salsa and grilled lime shrimp. This menu got us even more excited about our trip to Fort Walton/Destin next weekend. Check back later for more posts.....have a great week everyone!!! :o)
3/2/2010
Asheville, NC
I love this picture of Tiffy. She looks so happy especially since it was taken early in the morning! We had a wonderful trip to the Biltmore, and I am lucky to have shared it with such a fun and beautiful new wife!!
This was a picture that Miss Brenda (from 410 Productions) took of us while we were having our fun sunglasses picture taken overlooking the Tennessee River (we gave all of the Bridesmaids sunglasses to remember the occasion!). There is a great full on shot of this that the photographer took that can be seen in our wedding slideshow (see the link on the left).
If anyone is looking for a great DJ, then I stronly suggest Brenda and Gene Lovin from 410 productions. They were so wonderful and even take pictures at the event and convert them into a slideshow for you free of charge as an additional service. This was a picture of my beautiful bridesmaids at the country club that they took for me.
We went to Atlanta this past weekend to meet up with my parents and go shopping for my birthday. My parents also gave me lots of fun birthday money, and instead of buying several small things, I decided to combine everything and get one fun thing................A NEW BURBERRY HANDBAG....YAY!!!! I am so excited because Burberry is my favorite! I got one from my parents when I graduated from Tech, but haven't had anything from there since. We met the nicest man named Don who works there, and I strongly encourage people to go talk to him because he is extremely nice. Yay for new purses!
Last Thursday was the official end of my twenties. I must say, however, that my 30th birthday was wonderful! I started off the day to surprise flowers and a beautiful handmade card from my wonderful hubby. My kids at school wrote lots of sweet messages on my board and even brought me tons of snacks and a birthday cake. When I got home, Bradley took me to "The Catch," which is this super nice seafood restaurant in Albany. I came home and he had also made me a birthday cake that was so cute! I opened up my gifts and found a beach chair for our trip at the end of this month, along with lots of shopping money for our trip to Atlanta this weekend. I am excited to go and get something fun in ATL.....Yay!
Our backyard....
My parents just recently came and visited for the first time since we were married. They brought us a housewarming gift and told us to hang it so I could be remined of home. I opened it up and it was a "See Rock City" bird house (which I have wanted for several years now). I was so excited!! Bradley immediately started putting it together and it is now hanging up in one of our trees. It is so nice to be reminded of home!!!
Tiffany & Bradley's Closet
Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a huge shoe fetish. I currently own around 60 pairs of shoes, and I am always looking to expand my collection. Well, I have never had enough room to set them all out, so they were all over my room. My husband is a bit of a neat freak (but still precious!) and doesn't like shoes to be everywhere. Well, a couple of months ago he asked me what I wanted for the wedding. I told him that I would love to have a custom made shoe rack so they could all be organized. After my first week of work, I came home to this. What a great hubby!!!
So, remember when I wrote a couple of months ago about how we purchased a home on a pecan orchard and how I needed to learn how to make pecan pie? Well, our friends Matt and Maryanne apparently had been keeping up with our blog before the big day. They came over to our house recently and gave us our wedding present (which was wrapped super cutely by the way). Anyways, we go to open it up and it was the ADORABLE red pie dish that we had registered for at Williams Sonoma, along with all of the ingredients to make PECAN PIE!! It was one of the most thoughtful gifts that I had ever received!! I was so excited about it that I took a picture and decided to share it with you all. We love you guys and can't wait to have you over for some yummy pie! Thanks again!!! :o)
I posted a link of the slideshow that the photographer made of our wedding day. It was really fun, because he is actually a photo journalist who followed us both around all day. This way, you can see what all sorts of fun stuff we did! All you have to do is go to the "Photographer Slideshow and Picture Link" page (found on the left side of this page above "Our Engagement Blog") and then click on the link. Don't forget to also take a look at all 500 pictures that were taken from that day, along with pictures of the rehearsal dinner. Happy picture looking!
I took this picture right before the wedding started. I thought that it was super cute of the girls! :o)
I thought that it was cute that Ava wanted to be like her "Aunt Tippanie...."
So, those of you who came to the wedding remember how huge my dress was. It had so many layers, that I couldn't sit down in a normal chair without wrinkling it. My feet were tired after pictures, so I decided to plop down in the floor of the rectory before the ceremony began. People thought that this was funny, so they started taking some pictures....
So, it has been TWO MONTHS since our wedding!!! I am so sorry that it has taken so long to get this up, but moving has been a huge ordeal. I ended my job as an engineer with Alstom in Chattanooga on April 1, 2010 (April Fools Day of all days). I drove directly from Alstom to South Georgia on that Thursday to start my new life with Bradley. Lillie Ann (Bradley's mother) and I went fabric shopping for our new home on Friday, and I started my new job on Monday. I should have taken some time off, but I have had fun with my new job. I am actually teaching Algebra 1 and 2 at The Westfield School in Perry, Georgia. It is actually an hour and fifteen minutes away from our house, but I feel very fortunate to have a job at all in these tough economic times. Bradley and I were living apart our first month of marriage, and figured out very quickly that it was no fun at all. Since my move, we have been able to unpack most of my stuff (I didn't realize how much I had) and set up our house a little bit. It all takes some time, but it is gradually coming about. I figured that since I haven't written in a while, I should post some fun pictures of the wedding. Here it goes.....
Take a look at the menus.....
Love how all of my signage matches......
I came home today and got a package from the awesome Chocolate Butterbean! I opened it up, and it was my menus and guest book cards. Joni did such a fabulous job, and she even wrapped them up in Tiffany Blue.....HOW CUTE IS THAT?!? I was so excited, that I had to take a picture!
Kristin (my wonderful Bridesmaid) and I had a girls day and had SO MUCH FUN!!! She went with me to have my final dress fitting (after alterations) and learned how to work the crazy bustle that has been installed into my dress. We then went out to eat at J. Alexanders, followed by fun-filled make-up shopping at Chanel with my good friend Erica. We got all sorts of fun make-up for the wedding day, and I got some sassy lip gloss for the honeymoon! :o) This is a picture of us at dinner......So excited for Saturday!
I really don't like guest books because I feel that people will never look at them after their wedding. Since I am a huge scrapbook person, I thought that it would be fun to instead have a "guest book card" where people could write us a little note for us to keep and put in our wedding scrapbook. I had Joni make us some guest book cards (that of course match the rest of our signage for the wedding) in the standard 4"x6" picture size, so they would fit into an album. Make sure to stop by the guest book table and write us a line or two. We will enjoy reading all of the notes on our honeymoon! :o)
I am hosting a fun little breakfast for all of my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. I went and saw the wonderful girls of Cynthia Howell (awesome stationary store in Chattanooga that is owned and managed by some fellow Junior League girls). If you haven't noticed, I like everything to match, hence the colors.... :o)
Joni created a really cool looking monogram on the inside of our programs. It has the T and the B (from Tiffany and Bradley of course!) intertwined and it looks really awesome. Here is a close-up.....
I must say, Joni made me the most BEAUTIFUL programs ever (even though I am biased)!!! They are actually little booklets with all kind of important wedding information. It has the traditional bridal party, order of the wedding, music selection stuff, but it also has fun facts including how Bradley and I met, reception information and the link to our photographer's website to look at a slideshow of the whole day's festivities. Make sure you get one on your way in to the wedding because they are STUNNING!
I just realized that I never put up our wedding colors. They are:
My mentor at work and his wife, Dale and Sara, called me on Friday morning and asked if it would be okay to take me to lunch. I accepted, of course, and we went to one of my favorite restaurants in town, Mount Vernon. We had such a wonderful time and they gave me the coolest cooking/dish set. Now I need to learn how to make creme brulee! :o) YAY!
After many visits to the White Table (the linen company that we are using...check out their website because they are AWESOME!), we finally picked out the table covers and decorations. We are using the champagne/taupe color for the table cloths and ivory chair covers with chocolate brown satin sashes. The napkins are also brown, and the ivory/brown/blue menus will be placed on top. There will be clear glass cylinders in the center, filled with hydrangea arrangements (we used fake flowers here, so you will have to use your imagination for what it will look like with the real flowers in it). We will have 10 chairs around the table on the actual day, but here is a pic of a mock table with only two chairs......
Lenox Mall.... Atlanta, Georgia
Mom and I went to Atlanta on Saturday to meet the wonderful Joni of Chocolate Butterbean (and AXO sorority sis) to pick up all of my fun wedding stuff. She has made all of the signage for the wedding, including the programs, menus, guestbook cards and the signs for the guest book and favor tables. She has also made us a BEAUTIFUL 3'X4' wooden sign that she hand painted to put up at the reception. The cool thing about it is that it matches our programs and can be hung in our house after the wedding. Mom and I had so much fun meeting up with her and having some yummy lunch. Make sure to check out her website at www.chocolatebutterbean.com!!!
Since many of the bridesmaids are from out of town, I am throwing a breakfast for them the morning of the wedding. Mom and I stopped by to check on the menu, and I managed to take a picture of the outside of the building. We are having it at the historic Stone Fort Inn, which is located on 10th Street. In case you haven't noticed, Bradley and I are very in to old, historic buildings. Take a look at their website, b/c the inside is AWESOME! Tori, Jessica, Alana and I will all be staying there the night before the wedding and we have two suites reserved for the next morning to get ready in. I AM SO EXCITED.....yay!
Saturday, my parents and I went down to the church to get some decorating ideas. The church is so pretty on it's own that I feel that too much decorating would take away from the natural beauty of the sanctuary. The decorations will be very minor, but I thought that you would like to still have a look.....
This is the view that we will have at the cocktail reception of the Tennessee River. Although it was freezing outside, I went out and took a picture of the beautiful view......
So this is the 3rd time this winter that it has snowed.....AHHHH!!! Although the snow would take pretty pictures, I am pretty sure that all of us girls that are going to be in strapless dresses are going to freeze to death the day of the wedding. I am going to try and be positive though and still hope for good weather on the 27th. Saturday, my parents and I made the trip to the country club and finalized everything for the reception. We are going to have a crowd of 220 folks and should have plenty of room to get around the ballroom. Here are a few pics of the club with lots of snow on the ground......
I must admit that there is nothing more fun in life than having your favorite store (Revival) call you and tell you that you have a present waiting on you. SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! Thanks Kathryn and Jerry. You both made my day! :o)
Today was the final fitting of my dress. I am VERY excited about it and can't wait to wear it. I am obviously not going to show you a picture, so this is all that you guys get!!!!! :o)
Bradley and I have been getting presents like crazy lately, however, this one wins the award so far for cutest card/gift. Lee and Craig are Bradley's fraternity brothers (Kappa Sig) and Lauren is Lee's wonderful wife. I was an Alpha Chi in college (AXO) and the wedding guest list mainly includes former Georgia Tech AXOs and Kappa Sigs. Well, this was the card that came with the gift. I was kind of confused by the whole "mixer" reference (because fraternity/sorority parties at Tech were called mixers) until I opened up the gift and inside was a KitchenAid hand MIXER......HAHAHA!!! It was such a cute idea that I just had to take a picture and show it to you all. Great job you guys and thank you again! :o)
Bradley had to drive up from Albany this weekend so we could do our required couples counseling for my church. It was 61 degrees when he left Albany, and he had to leave the warm weather to come up to FREEZING Chattanooga! It was snowing so hard on Friday that we were told to leave early from work and it still took me TWO HOURS to drive 11 miles home!! No fun! Anyways, Bradley got here safely and the weather made pretty pictures. We took a picture of the snow on Saturday, after a lot of it was already gone. BRRR!!!
As of right now, every single response card that we have received has been a "yes"......YAY! We are so excited that so many people are coming from out of town to see us get married. The club can only seat 200 people for a seated lunch, so if too many people accept, then we may have to have heavy appetizers and do more of a standing/cocktail table type of thing. Might not be the ideal situation, but we would have a lot more room to dance and have fun!! Either way we will know better as soon as we get all of the responses in. The hotel block is already being filled quickly, so if it does, please give me a call so we can add more rooms. Only 30 days away................
So, this was a delightful detail about the Bachelorette Party that I forgot to mention. Jessica, my awesome MOH, was my roommate in college. We sort of had a tradition during finals week where we would go to Chick-fillet and get a platter of chicken nuggets. We would then keep them in our room and they would be our yummy snack for while we studied. This tradition continued through MANY finals weeks and keep in mind that this was years ago (she and I are both 29 now). Anyhoo, we had not spoken about this tradition in years and when I arrived for my party, there on the table was a huge platter of Chick-fillet nuggets. She wanted to do it as a surprise to bring back fun memories from college. I thought that this was SO COOL that I decided to post a picture and tell you guys about it. YAY FOR JESSICA! :o)
Those of you who know me well know that I have a HUGE shoe fetish. Â I have waited to find the perfect shoes for my dress, and I finally found them. Â I wanted to get something that I would wear again, so I decided against any sort of "bridal" type of shoe. Â I am also pretty tall, so I didn't want anything with too high of a heel. Â These are the perfect gold strappy sandals that go with the top portion of my dress(no you don't get to see a picture of my dress!). Â I am even more excited that they are fairly comfortable and are easy to walk in. Â Yay!
I finally got the call from Monica's that all of my Bridesmaid's dresses are in. Â My roomie went and got hers and was nice enough to hold it up for a picture. They are long satin gowns and the back has an ivory bow that matches my dress. Â I have seen them on the girls and they are going to look absolutely beautiful. Â Yay!
Albany,Ga
People keep asking Bradley and I about our pecan trees, so I decided to post a fun picture of our backyard. Â I am really not kidding when I say that we live on an orchard!! Â Pecan pie anyone??? Â :o)
Bradley and I are SUPER excited to announce that we will be having the famous "Ramblin' Reck" car at our wedding. As all of you Tech fans know, this is the car that Georgia Tech is famous for that leads the football team out on the field for each game. We weren't sure if we could get it since we are getting married in Tennessee, however, it did help that Bradley and I are both Tech alumni. Also, it was VERY helpful that Bradley was the Reck Club president in college. We are going to get all of our guests who went to Georgia Tech to take a picture together with Bradley and I, and we are going to send it in to the Tech Alumni Magazine. This is also the car that we will be leaving in. YAY!!!!!!!!
I was super excited to find out that the stained glass windows were done by Tiffany and Company......I guess that it was meant to be! Â :o)
Not sure why the person was not standing in the center of the room when they took this picture, but you get the idea...... Â :o)

I am so excited about the wedding and being able to be married in my gorgeous church! Â It is on the National Register for Historic Places and was built in the 1800's. Â The sanctuary is huge, so we won't even come close to filling it up. Â All of our music for the ceremony will be done on the pipe organ and is going to sound AMAZING! Â Here are a couple of pics of the church that I have found online.....
When Jessica came and stayed with me last weekend, she brought us presents.....YAY! Â I thought that they were wrapped so pretty, so I took a picture. Â I am so lucky to have such great friends! Â :o)
This is a picture of my cousin, Tracie, taping the caution tape to me. Â It was so cold outside, that we all had to have jackets. Â However, Tracie wanted to put the tape on me anyways. Â She told me that she was doing it out of love! Â LOL!!!
So sorry that it has taken me a week to post this, but it is getting to be crunch time. Â We had SUCH a great time at my party, however, it did happen to be 16 DEGREES outside with snow on the ground!!! Â This did limit our clothing choices, but it didn't limit the amount of fun that we all had. Â We started out at Kristin's house and had a lingerie shower. Â We then all went down to Big River Grille and met up with a bunch of people from work. Â Jessica did such a great job organizing and even had fun games for us to play! Â Here are a few pics from the night....
I just received my Bachelorette Party invitation in the mail, and they are PRECIOUS! Â I think that my MOH, Jessica, did an AWESOME job with picking them out. Â Fun times ahead ladies!! Â :o)
Bradley and I picked out Ava and Elaine's flower girl dresses last weekend. Â They are SO cute and they will have little sashes that match the "Big Girl" Bridesmaid's dresses. Â The buttons on the back of them match my dress, and we all will have a nice long bow in the back. Â I don't want to spoil the surprise too much, but here is a quick pic that we took in the hallway.....
Chattanooga, Tn
Early this morning, Bradley and I went down to Panera Bread Company and wrote our shower thank-you notes while having breakfast and drinking coffee. Â We had a really good time and actually made quite the good team. Â We are super excited for it to be 2010 because the wedding is quickly approaching......YAY!
Bradley,Drew and I cooked dinner at our house on the night of New Years Eve, while watching  "The Hangover."  For anyone who hasn't seen this movie, it is one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen!!  We then went out and rang in the New Year at "The Crow Bar."  Lots of fun times!  :o)
We forgot to take the camera cord to Albany, so here is another picture from our wonderful Christmas together! Â

Element Coffee Shop - Albany, Georgia
After spending Christmas Eve and Christmas day in Chattanooga with Tiffany's family, we traveled to Athens, GA to spend time with Bradley's family. From Athens, we made the long trip to Albany, GA. The first night in Albany, Tiffany's parents visited and we had a birthday party for her mom. We have played putt-putt golf, eaten good food, and worked around the new house. We also made a day trip to Thomasville, where we shopped, went site-seeing, and visited Pebble Hill Plantation. Tiffany went to coffee with Joni (sorority sister and owner of the wonderful Chocolate Butterbean) to finalize our wedding programs and signage. Â We are waiting for our good friend Drew Weeks (who is also a groomsman in our wedding) to arrive in town to celebrate the new year later tonight. Â We will post pictures from our Christmas when we get back to Chattanooga. Â HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Americus,Georgia
While we were in South Georgia, we decided to stop by Mary Baldwin, which is the cute little store that we are registered at in Americus. Â We went in the back and saw that our place setting of dishes was on display for all of the town to see. Â It is fun because you can figure out who all is getting married and what their dishes look like. Â I was so excited that I asked the manager if I could take a picture (yes, I am a dork!!!)! Â Apparently, many people in South Georgia are now aware of our engagement by seeing our dishes. Â YAY!!!
The University of Tennessee Chattanooga
Last Monday, I had the unique opportunity of watching Georgia Tech play UT Chattanooga in basketball. Â It was very interesting, because I have a degree from both schools. Â It was really fun because I got to cheer the entire game (since I am a fan of both teams) and both schools have gold as their main color! Â Very convenient!!! Â I hate to admit it, but I was really pulling for Tech b/c I spent four years of my life cheering for them while being a member of the Ga Tech dance team. Â However, I did go to grad school at UTC, so I clapped for them also. Â Tech ended up winning big, but I had a great time hanging out with my father. Â Above is a picture with my Dad that my "Uncle Dale" took for us. Â Thanks Dale for the awesome seats!!!

Tiffany's House
Last Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity of hosting my immediate family's Christmas celebration. Â It was the first time that I had been around my brother and sister in a long time, and it was so cute to watch all of my little nieces!! Â Above is a picture of Bradley and I with my adorable little niece, Ava. Â She is so precious and is also our Flower Girl for the wedding. Â This is one of my favorite pictures of the evening! Enjoy!
This weekend, my parents and I made the road trip down to South Georgia for my Christmas shower. Â I had never met most of the women before, but they were so nice and welcoming!!! Â Mom and I had a wonderful time, while Dad got to stay at the Winn household and watch sports. Â After the shower, Bradley took my parents on their first visit to Americus,Georgia. Â We spent most of the day shopping and then came home for a fabulous home cooked meal by Mrs. Winn. Â We had such a great time and I can't wait to add the pictures to my wedding scrapbook! Â :o)
So, since I wrote about the snow in my last entry, Â I thought that ya'll might actually like to see it.....enjoy! Â :o)
Yesterday I woke up to the wonderful surprise of snow on the ground. Â It was so pretty, but it only lasted a couple of hours until it melted. Â I still was able to take a pretty picture to remember the morning. Â Rebecca and her mother threw Bradley and I a shower at 11am, and all of the snow on the trees made the drive there magical!!! Â We had such a wonderful time and I took some really pretty pictures. Â Thanks so much you guys!!! Â :o)
I would just like to say that it is SO MUCH FUN to come home and have this sitting on your doorstep.....YAHOO!!!!! Â Thank you Merlita for sending us our awesome cake platter from Williams Sonoma!!!
I must admit that it is so much fun to have wedding showers. Â I feel bad that people are going out of their way to throw Bradley and I wonderful wedding parties, but we are very appreciative!! Â We have had so much fun and love all of our presents. Â Above is a picture of the BEAUTIFUL Simon Pearce vase that Kristin,Autumn and Robin got us from Revival. Â I was shocked when I opened up my package and saw my gorgeous new vase. Â I can't wait to put it out in our new dining room....YAY!! Â :o)
Albany,Ga
I hope that everyone had as good of a Thanksgiving as we did! Â I left my work at 9:30am on Wednesday and got through Atlanta just in time to miss all of the Holiday traffic. Â I met Bradley in Albany after he was finished golfing and he took me to visit our brand new house......YAY!! Â I LOVE it so much and am so happy that we bought it. Â We actually live on a pecan orchard and own about 13 pecan trees. Â I guess that I quickly need to learn how to cook things with pecans in them! Â :o) Â Bradley and his mother are coming to Chattanooga this weekend for our last shower in Tennessee. Â I am so excited and can't wait to post the pics! Â
As of about 2:30 pm, Bradley and I are official home owners! Â YAY!!!! Â I am super excited and can't wait to go and visit. Â It is a brand new house that they finished building only about a week ago, so I haven't seen the finished product yet. Â I am not sure how the paint color is going to work (that we picked out over the phone), but hopefully it will be okay. Â I can't wait to post the pics when I go and visit. Â YAHOO!!
So, I went to Atlanta for the day on Saturday to meet up with one of my sorority sisters, Joni Harrison Lay.  She was always VERY creative and artistic and has actually started up a printing/letterpress/design company called "Chocolate Butterbean."  I looked at her portfolio and am having her make some stuff for the wedding.  We met up at Panera Bread Company for some yummy lunch and to talk about design ideas for the programs, menus and signage for the wedding.  She had some wonderful ideas and I can't wait to see the design concepts that she will come up with.  Check out her website at www.chocolatebutterbean.com.  Well worth the visit!  :o)
Tori and Jessica spent hours over at Monica's, but finally found a dress that is BEAUTIFUL! It was very difficult because my Maid of Honor is about 5'1" and my cousin is 6'3".....finding a dress that would look great on everybody was challenging, but it all paid off in the end! They are champagne long satin gowns with an ivory sash that ties around into a bow in the back. We actually liked the chocolate brown dresses better, but I couldn't stand having brown dresses standing next to black tuxedos. I know that many people do it, but I just couldn't get past the clashing colors!!! :o) Bill Levkoff is the designer and I highly recommend him to anyone needing a formal gown.
Sorry it has been so long since my last post. Â Things are crazy right now, but very exciting! Â I have a dress and my invitations, now I just have to work on the bridesmaids dresses. Â My Maid of Honor is coming from Savannah tonight, so we are going to go looking tomorrow. Â Hopefully I will be able to snap some pictures from all the fun. Â We are also meeting up with some of the other bridesmaids to see about dates for showers. Â Will let everyone know when I have more details!!!
See the "Engagement Party" tab for more details.....
So, we finally have the invitations and save the dates ordered. Â One of my friends from work has been nice enough to volunteer to help me address the save the date cards, so they will hopefully be going out in late July/early August. Â I have been trying to get everyone's addresses from facebook, but just in case, please leave me your addresses under the guest book link so I don't leave anyone out. Â Thank you!!! Â :o)
So, I finally got our website up and running. Â Please stay tuned for more pictures and details as the big day comes closer. Â Â
